The name of the
waterfall surrounded by natural beauty is Tanguar Haor. Spread across Tahirpur
and Dharmapasha Upazilas of Sunamganj District of Greater Sylhet Division.
About 100 square kilometers in area, Haor is the second largest freshwater
wetland in Bangladesh. Haor is also known as Naikuri Kanda's Chaikkuri Bill to
the local people.
Here water and water
is everywhere. It is impossible to express this wonderful beauty of nature in
words. The mountains of Meghalaya, India, have surrounded the entire Howar.
About 30 fountains or springs have been found in Tangua Haor from these hills.
The Nalkhagra and
Hijal karach forests around Haor have brought a new dimension to the beauty,
growing to about 20,000 acres during the monsoons. Monsoon season is the best
time to visit Tanguare Haor, a haven of pristine beauty. During this time, all
the plants take a fresh form in the rain water, creating a wonderful and
beautiful scene.
Tanguar Haor, the
second largest sweet-water swamp of Bangladesh. Rainy season is perfect time to
visit the Tanguar Haor.
